Social Skills

At Byron Bay Public School we take a whole school approach to teaching Social Skills.  A new topic is introduced each fortnight.  The topic is displayed throughout the school and discussed with all students in their classrooms.  Each week the theme is advertised in the newsletter.

Topics include:  manners, feelings, sharing, teasing, taking turns, accepting no, including others, responsibility, cooperating, saying sorry and respecting the rights of others.  Parents are encouraged to support this program at home through discussions with their children.
